2024 Efland Christmas Parade

The 2024 Christmas parade will be held on Saturday, December 14 at 10am. The parade will go down Forrest Ave, ending at the Efland Ruritan Club. Join us at the club building after the parade for cookies and hot chocolate. Santa will also be there for kids of all ages.

For anyone who wishes to be in the parade, lineup will be in the gravel drive next to the Efland car wash at 9am.

Between donations received at the rodeo and the Efland Ruritan Club match, we sent $1500 to western NC relief. Added to the $1000 the Efland Ruritan Club sent immediately following the hurricane, our community sent $2500 to western NC. Thank you to everyone who donated.

Helene caused massive devastation in our mountain communities. The Efland Ruritan Club is raising money at the rodeo to help the people affected. We will have a donation jar at the t-shirt booth for anyone who is able and wishes to donate to this cause. We will also match the donations raised (up to $5000) to double what is sent to help these communities.

Dates: November 1 and 2, 2024
Time: Ticket booth and gates will open at 5PM both nights.  The rodeo will start at 7PM.

2024 Efland Ruritan Club Rodeo Weather Alert:

Due to uncertainties with weather conditions this afternoon as the remnants of Hurricane Helene pass us by, we are canceling the Friday night rodeo and moving forward with our rain date of Sunday, September 29. Rodeo times will be as follows:

Rodeo starts at 7:30pm

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29
Ticket booth and gates open at 1:30 PM

2024 Efland Ruritan Club Rodeo Weather Note:

There is a tropical storm that is moving through our area Friday. However, it appears that it will be north and/or west of us by rodeo time on Friday. Saturday weather looks fine. We are moving forward with the rodeo as scheduled for this weekend. However, if we do have to cancel Friday’s show, we will hold an alternate show on Sunday afternoon (9/29) at 3pm with the gates opening at 1:30pm.

A decision about Friday’s show will be made by 2pm Friday and post both here and on Facebook.

2023 April 1st Efland Ruritan Club Breakfast

Come join us for breakfast on April 1. We will have eggs, grits, country ham, sausage, biscuits. Breakfast will be served from 6:30 am - 10:30 am at the Ruritan Club building. This is a donation only event so pay only what you wish. Money raised will go toward our scholarships we award every year.

2021 Efland Ruritan Club Breakfast Fundraiser

The Efland Ruritan Club will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser on Nov 13 from 6am until 11am to raise money for our annual scholarships. We will be offering eggs, ham, grits, biscuits, and gravy at this breakfast. This fundraiser is for donations only so come join us and give what you can to help our area students extend their education.

2021 Saturday Morning Yard Sales

Starting this month on Aug 14, the Ruritan Club is opening its grounds up for Saturday morning yard sales on the second Saturday of the month from 7am until noon. There is no charge and this is open to anyone who wishes to set up a booth. If there is rain/bad weather on the second Saturday, then the fourth Saturday of the month will be available as an alternate day. We do ask that you be respectful and set up along the treeline near Hwy70 so as to not interfere with anyone who may be renting the buildings that day.

We will be hosting the 4th of July parade again. However, this year, the parade will be held on Saturday, July 3. For anyone who is interested in being in the parade, lineup will be at 9am in the driveway next to the Efland car wash (corner of Hwy 70 and Efland-Cedar Grove Rd). The parade will travel from this spot, down Forrest Ave, and end at the Efland Ruritan Club. Stop by after the parade is over for some watermelon and water. The parade itself will begin at 10am.

2021 Facility Rentals

The Efland Ruritan facilities have been reopened for rentals. Please contact Anthony Cecil at 919-730-0174 for scheduling. It is up to the group or individual renting the facility to follow any current COVID restrictions.

2020

The 2020 Efland Christmas parade has been canceled due to the COVID pandemic. We have missed everyone this year since we also had to cancel the rodeo this year. We hope everyone remains safe and healthy.

As of Nov 10, 2020, due to Governor Cooper’s announcement limiting indoor gatherings to 10 people, the Efland Ruritan facilities are closed to rentals until further notice.

2019 Efland Christmas Parade is canceled due to the rain. We apologize for any inconvenience and hope everyone has a merry Christmas.

Our Christmas parade will be on Dec 14th this year. For those interested in being in the parade, line up starts at 9am at the Efland car wash (at the stop light). The parade route will go down Forrest Ave and end at the Efland Ruritan Club building. Santa Claus will be there for the kids and young at heart. There will be cookies and hot chocolate for everyone.

2019 Efland Ruritan Club Turkey Shoot

We are returning with our turkey shoot in November and hope to have better weather than last fall’s rainfest. The turkey shoot will be held the first four Fridays in November from 7pm-9pm. Bring your shotgun and your aim and we will provide the shells. As in the past, this will be held in the Ruritan Club ball field. Our address is 3009 Forrest Ave, Efland, NC 27243 and the ball field is across Forrest Ave from the club house.

2019 4th of July Parade

The parade will be held on Thursday, July 4th and will begin at 10am. For anyone interesting in being in the parade, the lineup spot will be in the driveway next to the Efland car wash (which is at the corner of Hwy 70 and Efland-Cedar Grove Rd). Parade lineup will be at 9am. If you wish to be in the parade, just show up at this time. The parade will travel from the lineup spot, down Forrest Ave, and end at the Efland Ruritan Club. Water and watermelon will be served at the Efland Ruritan Club after the parade is over.

2019 Efland Ruritan Club Breakfast Fundraiser

The Efland Ruritan Club will be offering breakfast on Saturday, May 11, from 6 am until 11 am. The breakfast will consist of eggs, ham, sausage, grits, biscuits as well as juice, coffee, and milk. This will be a “donation only” fundraiser to raise money for scholarships we provide to local students.

Since our turkey shoot got all but rained out this past autumn, the Efland Ruritan Club has scheduled a new round this March. One change we have made is that it will be moved from Friday nights to Saturday afternoons from 2pm-5pm.

2019 Red Cross Blood Drive in February

The Efland Ruritan Club will be hosting a blood drive for the Red Cross on Wednesday, February 27 from 2:30pm until 7pm. Walk-ins are welcome. You can also schedule a donation time by contacting the Red Cross at 1-800-RED-CROSS or their website, redcrossblood.org.

2019 Scholarships

The Efland Ruritan Club is offering two $750 scholarships each to qualifying seniors at Orange High School, Cedar Ridge High School, and Eno River Academy High School. One scholarship will be for an academic education and one will be for a trade education. Please check the Scholarships page for more details.

The 25th anniversary of the Efland Ruritan Rodeo will take place on October 5th & 6th.  Details are provided on this website under the "Rodeo" tab.  We hope you can help us make this the biggest and best rodeo ever!

2018 Yard Sales

FYI, free yard sale setup at Efland Ruritan Club (see schedule below). There's no "Start" time but everything has to be cleaned up by 2PM. If someone is renting the building, please stay out of their way. If there is something going on in any of the buildings, on any of the Saturdays that we have scheduled for the yardsale, the people renting the building will take priority. This will continue every 2nd Saturday of every month through Sept. We may extend it through October but we'll wait till we get closer to make that call. 2018 Ruritan July 4th Parade

When: Wednesday July 4th. Lineup starts at 9AM and parade starts at 10AM.
Where: Lineup near Lloyd's carwash. Parade route follows Forrest Ave and ends at Efland Ruritan Club.

We welcome clubs or groups, individuals, cars, trucks, bicycles, golf carts, tractors, motorcycles, horses, dogs, etc.  Just about anything or anybody that wants to decorate their vehicle or their person...and can make it the short distance from the carwash to the Ruritan Building...is welcome to participate.  However, we do reserve the right to keep anyone from participating (hate groups, vicious animals, etc).  It is free to enter and free to watch.

EflandConnect - Efland Area Communication Program
"EflandConnect" is a community based information system that serves as a vehicle to allow community civil, religious and service organizations to share information.  Think of it simply as a "community phone tree" between area organizations.  Any non-profit, non-political organization in the Efland or surrounding area that desires an opportunity to forward information that others in the area might want to know is invited to participate as a member of the system at no cost.  The following are the type of information shared to system members: fund raising events; critical request for assistance; deaths; or anything that your organization thinks others in the community might need or might like to know.

Should your organization need addition information or desire to participate in the program, please contact us.  The value of this program is in the number and diversity of organizations participating.
